WHERE TO STAY IN SANIBEL CAPTIVA
Sports Travel
Whether you have the urge
to swat a tennis racquet, swing a golf club, steer a canoe, ride
a bike, or go waterskiing, you'll find all types of outdoor sporting
activities at your fingertips on both islands.
South Seas Resort in Captiva Island has 18 tennis courts and 18
swimming pools, as well as rental canoes, kayaks, sailboats, and
powerboats. 'Tween Waters Inn has a marina with boat and bicycle
rentals, year-round fishing, beach volleyball, and tennis.
In Sanibel Island, Sundial Beach Resort rents windsurfers,
scuba diving equipment, catamarans, and sailboats. It has a jogging
trail and can arrange golf outings. The island has two public golf
courses.
Adventurous souls may want to take leave of the
beach paradise and embark on an Everglades Day Safari. Departing
from Sanibel, the safari takes you on a search for Florida manatees,
gators, and crocodiles and whizzes you through the River of Grass
in an airboat.
